One of the most vital steps in the online shopping process is the delivery of customers' orders. In this blog we aim to explain the shipping process after you order your Tucktec folding kayak, everything from the preparation of the kayak to the delivery process. We ship to over 65 countries / regions, but we try to simplify and make the experience more accessible for everyone.

What are the different shipping options?

The price of the Tucktec folding kayak has always included shipping, but since April 13th, 2025, we provide three different options: free, expedited and express. Take a look at our convenient comparison table:

Explanation:

• Kayak preparation time - this is the time our employees take to assemble and prepare the kayak for shipping. If you choose the expedited shipping option, you will be ahead all of the people who chose free shipping. Please bear in mind that we may take longer if we have a lot of orders or if we're understaffed.
• Package transit time - this is the time it takes the cargo company to transport your package to your address. It is always country-specific, as some countries are farther than others, but if you choose the express option, it usually comes overnight or in less than three days. Please note that delivering the package to you is the responsibility of the cargo company, where we have no control. Delays can occur due to weather or logistical issues.
• Cargo company - these are the cargo companies we use based on your chosen shipping option. If there are multiple options, we leave it up to our own discretion with which company we'll send the package.
• Pricing - this is the price of each shipping option.

I live outside of the European Union. What is the customs import procedure? Do I have to pay import taxes?

Firstly - no, you don't have to pay any import taxes if you live outside of the European Union! If you ordered after May 15th, 2025, we will pay import VAT and any relevant import duties on behalf of all of our customers with the help of FedEx*. This means that the import procedures with your local customs authorities are simplified - we provide all of the documents and declarations, FedEx and/or their customs broker may contact you for more information.

* Due to logistical issues, we cannot pay taxes on behalf of customers from Åland Islands, Kosovo and Ukraine, so you will have to pay the import VAT yourself. We have reduced the price accordingly, and we will assist with all of the import procedures, as we did with non-EU customers in the past. Customs procedures for these countries are not hard, as we usually provide supplement documents to be shipped together with your package.

We are a Lithuanian company, which is part of the European Union. So, orders going to EU countries do not require any customs clearance procedures. But we still do pay VAT in every country ourselves, using the One Stop Shop (OSS) scheme, our identification number is LT 100016067112, unless we qualify for an exemption under the SME scheme, where our identification number is LT100016067112-EX.

What are the delivery times?

I don't live in one of the listed countries, but I'm close. Can I still buy a kayak?

Even though we are the official franchisee of Tucktec, which means our area is typically limited to certain countries, if you live close by, for example in Asia or Africa, send us an email at [email protected] and we'll see what we can do for you!

If you live in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, you will not have to go through customs clearance procedures and your VAT will automatically be paid by us as specified by relevant EU-wide VAT schemes and national laws.

If you live in Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Sakartvelo, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Vatican, we will pay import VAT and applicable customs duties. We'll also ensure that the import procedure is very straightforward, with FedEx and/or their customs broker only contacting you if they need some information.

If you live in Åland Islands, Kosovo and Ukraine, you will have to pay import VAT yourself. The carrier company will contact you and ask you to pay a sum based on the customs declaration that we provided to them. The price you pay us (Tucktec) has been reduced by the taxes you will pay to the customs authorities when your order arrives to your country.
