• Is the Tucktec folding kayak safe?

  Yes, the Tucktec folding kayak is very safe and stable. It is made out of durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE), so even if you hit a rock or a log, it only leaves a scratch, but you can carry on kayaking care-free! Even if you capsize, the kayak itself floats along the surface of the water. Always remember to wear a life jacket for your own safety. • How long does it actually take to fold and unfold the kayak?
  The Tucktec folding kayak takes around 1-2 minutes to fold and unfold once you have gotten used to the process and the plastic has been used. After receiving their folding kayak, new customers usually take 5-15 minutes during their first assembly, because the plastic is new and stiff, and people learning how the mechanism works, usually through a video.
• How does it work?
  The main part of the Tucktec folding kayak is made out of HDPE plastic which has been CNC'd in a special way to make the kayak fold like origami. After unfolding the kayak, the user has to lock in place 6 levers, which makes sure that the plastic is folded in a specific way where water can't get inside and the person can sit safely. The shape of the kayak and the buoyancy of the HDPE plastic makes sure that the kayak stays afloat. After the kayaker is done using it, there are straight grooves to fold the Tucktec into a "burrito".
• Why should I need a Tucktec folding kayak when I can just get an inflatable?
  Inflatable kayaks are not safe, they're bulky, they take a long time to assemble, and they can be just as heavy as a rigid kayak. The Tucktec folding kayak is a lightweight (11.5 kilograms), rigid kayak - it can hit the biggest rocks but they'll only leave a scratch, it folds up neatly, and it assembles in 2 minutes or less!
• What happens if I fall in the water?
  If you capsize, the Tucktec folding kayak will float along the surface of the water, it doesn't sink to the bottom due to the characteristics of HDPE. Always please make sure that you wear a life jacket while you're kayaking.
• What is a HIN?
  A Hull Identification Number (HIN) is an identification number for every Tucktec folding kayak. We offer the ability to customize the ending of your HIN for a low price of 5€! It consists of the color of your kayak, the batch number and a string made up of 7 alphanumeric characters or less, which you can pay to change!
• How long does the folding kayak last until it breaks?
  The Tucktec folding kayak is rated for thousands of folds. Our 3-year warranty will ensure that even if an issue does occur (it is unlikely), it will get fixed. But usually people use it for over five years without any issues.
• What happens if the kayak is scratched?
  As with any plastic, but especially with HDPE, scratches can occur and they can be very visible. The Tucktec folding kayak is not any different - it can even get micro-scratches from a cloth. Scratches, no matter if they're big or small, are not an issue, it won't affect the safety of the kayak. It is only cosmetic.
• Where is it made? How long does it take to arrive?
  The Tucktec folding kayak that we sell is made by us in the EU (Lithuania). We usually take 3-9 days to dispatch the kayak, and then it should arrive in your home after 2-14 days, depending on which country you live in. The kayaks were originally designed in the US, we are a franchisee operating in Vilnius, Lithuania.
• Is free shipping included in the price?
  Yes! Free shipping is included for Tucktec folding kayaks for any of the countries that we ship to.

• I want to receive my folding kayak quicker - what can you do?
  We provide three types of shipping options: free, expedited and express. Free shipping is already included in the price, expedited shipping costs 40€, but we make and dispatch your Tucktec folding kayak in a priority queue, and express shipping means that your kayak will reach you in 1-4 days. • Can I return my folding kayak if I don't like it?
  Every customer has the right a full refund within 14 days of receipt of the kayak by informing us at info@tucktec.eu. After that, we offer a 90-day return window which entitles the returnee for a 75% refund. The refund is issued after receipt and inspection of the kayak at our facilities. A 25% refund is issued if the kayak has been returned damaged (cosmetic issues or scratches don’t apply). Read more.
• What happens if I have to use the warranty service?
  If something happened which is larger than a cosmetic issue (like scratches), we offer a 3-year warranty, which entitles the customer (depending on the issue): 1. To receive a repair kit. 2. To send the kayak back to us free of charge for a repair. 3. To send the kayak back to us and receive a new one. Read more.
• Who is the company behind Tucktec folding kayaks?

  Tucktec was originally invented in the US. "Tucktec EU" is the official franchisee of Tucktec. Our official business name is MB Kayak Vilnius, we registered in Lithuania, an EU country, where we manufacture the kayaks. Read more.

• Does the price include taxes?
  For European Union countries - yes, we pay VAT. For countries outside of the EU, there will be import VAT, but the price which you paid us has been reduced accordingly. Read more.
• I live outside of the EU - how will the customs import procedures go?
  Don't worry - we have many customers who live outside of the EU, and the import process has been easy for everyone. You receive a notice from our shipping provider that you have an incoming package and you must complete the import procedures. You fill out a form for the customs authorities, you pay the import VAT and the Tucktec folding kayak arrives at your home! We provide the shipping carrier with all necessary documents for a smoother process, and if there are any issues, we're always here to assist every one of our customers! Read more.

• What payment methods do you accept?
  RIght now we accept card payments (Visa and Mastercard) from every country and bank transfers to our Lithuanian bank account. We are working on integrating your country's local banks and payment methods to our systems.

  Yes, all payments done on our website are secure. They are processed by the Revolut Bank.
• Do you ship the accessories together with the Tucktec folding kayak?

  Yes, if you order a Tucktec folding kayak and any one of the accessories, we will ship everything together.

• Does the paddle fit inside the folding kayak?
  Yes, the AMBER-2 paddle fits inside the Tucktec folding kayak. It is a 2-piece paddle, so it comfortably disassembles and fits perfectly inside the kayak.
• Do you offer discounts?
  Apart from the occasional sale, we also give discounts based on the quantity of your order. If you order 2 kayaks, there is a 5% discount automatically applied at checkout. If you order more than three kayaks, you will receive an automatic 10% discount.
